Everyday there are so many moments that happen around the world; some precious and some so sad that at times taking that memory and only filing it away in ones' subconscious seems like a thoughtless crime. The 'Power of the Pen' is a wonderful thing and it really can be 'mightier than the sword' in this fast paced world. Shakespeare and Chaucer truly had wonderful insight and a gift when using a pen. So when something of beauty touches your heart; write a poem. Have you ever seen something that outraged you so much that it has made you feel so helpless, and so frustrated. You wished that you could change the situation, but in your mind you felt like you were just one tiny person- what could you possibly do? When it comes right down to it, people will listen. It may be a small concern like a fence being fixed so children can walk to school. Or it may be a gigantic debate on how animals are treated by town bylaw officers. All issues can stir emotions and cause stories and words to fall upon paper.      Looking up far beyond         

   the white dancing clouds,

and pass the earth's blue veil.

      The darkness of an ever expanding universe seems to  engulf my searching thoughts

                 Who Am I?

    Where Did I Come From?

           Are there Others? 

     A shooting beam of light

      distracts all seriousness

    As quickly a light-hearted

             wish is made.

   The darkness is a constant

     wave of twinkling light,

    As new stars are born

             and old stars die.

      Universe upon universe-

       all pieced together,

  Swirling faster and faster.

 As seconds mix with seconds,

 Time mixing with time-

     and one wish is made.
